Lorraine joined the Chamber in October 2010 as a part-time receptionist after working for HMRC for 17 years. She moved to the Certification Department in 2011 where she processes Certificates of Origin, EUR1s, ATRs, Arab British Certificates and Carnets.
Lorraine left school and went to College to do an HNC in Computing then started with HMRC as her first job. After 2 years she decided to join The Royal Air Force. Lorraine was the first female recruit to be accepted from Hamilton in many years and the Hamilton Recruiting Office closed not long after.
Lorraine achieved a Certificate of Merit for her Trade Training as a Communications Officer for gaining the highest result on her course and was presented with this at her first posting at RAF Leuchars. When she left the RAF she relocated to Holland where Lorraine worked for 6 years learning Dutch and worked for various companies which include the Tax Office in Zeist , Interpol and latterly for the Haig’s Transport Tram Company. She was re-instated to HRMC in 1993 on her return from Holland until 2010 when she joined Glasgow Chamber.
Lorraine has a keen interest in politics have done various voluntary work helping her local community. She spends most of her weekends with her daughter and two cats.
