Launch of The Age Friendly Academy
Date: Tuesday 2 May 2017
Time: 1.00 pm - 4.00 pm
Venue: The Technology and Innovation Centre, Level 9
As part of the University of Strathclyde’s status as an Age Friendly University and the increasing amount of research and work being undertaken across the University relating to ageing, The Centre for Lifelong Learning is leading a new initiative called The Age Friendly Academy.
The Age Friendly Academy will provide a ‘shop window’ for internal and external audiences to easily access research, provision and Knowledge Exchange activity in which the University is engaged with in this field and underpin its commitment to learning throughout the life course. The aim is to also ease routes to collaborative opportunity and expertise in a variety of fields.
We would like to invite you to the launch of The Age Friendly Academy as part of Engage with Strathclyde week on Tuesday 2 May from 1pm – 4pm. Lunch is available from 12.30pm.
The event will be opened by Principal and Vice Chancellor Professor Sir Jim McDonald and will feature a series of short talks to capture the extensive range of work which is currently underway within the University. Keynote speakers will include representatives from within Strathclyde, Dublin City University and Age Scotland whose roles focus on embracing demographic change and positive ageing. This will be followed by a reception which will celebrate our research and older learners and provide an opportunity for networking.
You can register for this exciting free event here.
