The Scottish Research Partnership in Engineering (SRPe) is hosting a free one-day intensive conference and workshop aimed at demystifying digital manufacturing and evaluating the implications for SMEs.
It is being held at the University of Strathclyde’s Advanced Forming Research Centre (AFRC), 85 Inchinnan Drive, Inchinnan, PA4 9LJ on Tuesday 23 May.
Manufacturing companies are continually bombarded with terms such as the fourth industrial revolution, industry 4.0, digital manufacturing, smart manufacturing, cloud manufacturing and the internet of things.
The conference will break through the hype to describe and demonstrate the technologies, which are driving digital manufacturing. Affecting all manufacturing sectors, you will see how these technologies will impact and transform your business in the short and medium term.
Over the course of the day there will be cutting edge presentations, guided demonstrators and industrial and university partner demonstrators.
Introduced by University of Strathclyde principal Professor Sir Jim McDonald, speakers include representatives from Siemens, Bosch and Microsoft.
