Brodies begins new strategic cycle with four new partners and new leadership

UK top 50 and leading Scottish law firm Brodies LLP today announces four new partners in its latest round of internal promotions and strategic appointments.

Edinburgh-based rural business and natural capital lawyer Scott Logan steps up to partner, as do renewables specialist Claire Reid and construction law expert Kirsteen Milne.

Private client partner Emily Pike also joins Brodies, and is based in the firm's Edinburgh office. Dual-qualified in Scots and English law, Emily has a particular focus on complex trusts and estate planning for landowners and rural businesses, and advises high net worth individuals based in the UK and overseas.

In addition to its new partners, Brodies has promoted a further six colleagues; three to legal director, and three to senior associate.

Today also sees Stephen Goldie take over the role of managing partner from Nick Scott, who retires from the partnership following his second term of office. Stephen joined Brodies in 2002, becoming a partner in 2007 and then practice area leader for the firm's disputes practice in 2016.

Partners Louise Shiels and Marion MacInnes also become heads of the firm's dispute resolution and risk, and banking and finance practice areas, respectively.

Stephen Goldie said: "I'm delighted to take on the role of managing partner at a time when our firm is in robust health, and has much to look forward to. Today marks the beginning of the next chapter for Brodies, with a three-year strategic plan that builds on the progress that has already been made. Technology, energy and the way in which people engage with each other, is changing. From those changes comes opportunity, and in that we see our role; delivering relevant, high quality legal advice that will support, enable and empower our clients.

"Underpinning our ambitions is a continued commitment to investing in our people and recognition of the skills, experience and value that they bring to our clients and to our firm. I congratulate all of our colleagues and wish them well in the next chapter of their careers. I also welcome Emily to our firm; her expertise in complex personal and estate matters will be of considerable value to our clients who are based in the UK and overseas."
