Google AdWords is a great way of reaching people interested in your specific products and services, instantly. You create an ad, and then Google shows it when someone searches on Google for your particular service or product. You pay only when someone clicks on your ad to come through to your website. You set your own budget, and can start or stop the ads from running at any time.
Once you learn how to use AdWords, it is one of the most effective ways of driving people who are likely to become customers to your website. However, it is a complex system, and if not done correctly, can be much more expensive than it should be.
This Introduction to Google AdWords session will give you a head start on setting up your account, and will enable you to go and start your own account, confident that you are avoiding some of the common mistakes people new to advertising through PPC often make. Alternatively, if you are hoping to outsource your digital marketing to an agency, this course will be valuable in ensuring you work constructively with the agency, and monitor their results effectively.
All attendees of the course will be entitled to a free voucher for £120 to spend on Google AdWords.

- Creating an account structure that will bring the best customers to your site
- Choosing the right keywords
- Writing effective ads
- Ensuring you send potential customers to the correct pages of your website

- Display advertising - show ads through AdWords on news and other content sites
- Tracking sales: is AdWords actually working for you
If you would like to bring a laptop along to the session, please feel free to do so as you may find it useful to be able to try out some of the ideas being discussed.
The session will be taught by Lucy Johnston, who worked at Google on the AdWords team for 7 years, helping both large and small businesses and charities advertise on Google. Lucy now runs Bread & Butter Marketing, which provides consultancy and training in online marketing to businesses and charities. Her expertise covers Google AdWords, SEO, social media and online video. Bread & Butter Marketing is a Google Partner for AdWords, and Lucy holds certifications from Google in both Google AdWords and Google Analytics.
