Authorised Economic Operator
Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, 30 George Square, G2 1EQ
From: Tuesday 28 February 2017 09:30 To: Tuesday 28 February 2017 16:30
Since May 2016 some major changes have been impacting on businesses involved in trading internationally. The modernisation of the Union Customs Code (UCC), unknown to many importers and exports, have left some businesses at a disadvantage and facing difficulties within the global supply chain.
However there is a lifeline! The Authorised Economic Operator – AEO - accreditation is an internationally recognised quality mark indicating that your role in the international supply chain is secure, and that your customs controls and procedures are efficient and compliant. To obtain AEO a business must undertake a stringent HMRC audit demonstrating consistent quality, compliance and competence within the international supply chain. In return AEO status grants holders many direct and indirect benefits and is currently internationally recognised by 61 countries with more joining daily.
Craig Kerr, International Trade consultant from AEO Consult Ltd, is working closely with the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce in delivering an informative one day AEO workshop to help clarify any questions surrounding AEO and determine if AEO is right for your business.
During the AEO workshop Craig will share his experiences and cover the following:-
- What is AEO
- Why AEO Exists
- The types of AEO
- Meeting AEO Criteria
- The benefits of AEO
- AEO statistics
- The HMRC process
- Hints and Tips
- Maintaining AEO Status
