First Aid at Work Course (3 Days)

Subsequent to risk assessment within the workplace, employers may feel that there are sufficient risks or employee numbers etc. to merit Health & Safety Executive Approved First Aid at Work Training for designated individuals (please refer to the Health & Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981, Approved Code of Practice and Guidance [L74]). This course provides students with a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of first aid practices to give them the confidence when dealing with emergencies that take place within the work place. Students will learn how to assess and manage a diverse range of possible first aid situations and on successful completion of an assessment, the student will be awarded with aHealth and Safety Executive Approved First Aid At Work Certificate.

The HSE have stated that it is best practice to carry out first aid annual refresher training to ensure retention of knowledge and a requalification course should be repeated every 3 years to ensure certification remains valid.

Teaching Methods

Training materials include PowerPoint presentation, DVD presentations, workbooks, first aid quiz, first aid scenarios and first-aid manuals. Candidates are encouraged to participate fully in the course and discussion of work place situations is encouraged.
