Leona Seaton

Leona joined the Chamber in 2011 taking up the role of Project Manager for Employer Engagement. The appointment was a result of the partnership between Glasgow Works and the Chamber with the simple aim of increasing the number of employers recruiting people currently out of work, the project represented a partnership between the public and private sectors.

Leona is now responsible for leading the programme of work to deliver Glasgow’s Regional Invest in Youth Group.  Having worked for the Chamber for a few years Leona has led on the Glasgow Employer Board and the Youth Employment Action Group. She was also responsible for the development of Workforce Solutions; the Youth Enterprise Review; Schools and Business Partnerships and Inspiring500.

Previously Leona has held positions with Glasgow Employer Coalition, Equal Access to Employment, Greater Glasgow and Clyde NHS and community based organisation.  A graduate of the University of Glasgow she has an honours degree in Social Policy and is a certified CIPD professional.

Prior to this she worked on workplace health strategies as part of the Scotland's Health at Work team and on Community Development in the East End of Glasgow.

In her spare time she enjoys socialising, spending time with her family and going on holidays.  Leona is a member of a book group but admits to rarely reading the books "they always pick depressing books" and just going along for the "bar and the banter".
