Spanish Green Growth Group introduces: 12 best practices for climate action plans

Week 1

Date: Tuesday 2 November 2021
18:30 pm – 20.00 pm
Location: Scottish Power HQ (Glasgow) - Virtual & On-Site Event

This event will be hosted by ScottishPower (SP) at its headquarters in Glasgow on the 2nd of November from 6:30 to 8:00 PM GMT.

At the event, GECV member leading global companies and banks will launch a Guide of Best Practices for Climate Action Plans to operationalise reaching net zero emissions by 2050. This Guide stands out for its robust sources, its specific and science-based approaches, its links to 1.5 degree targets, and its ambition to accelerate the implementation of longer-term goals into shorter-term actions.

  • Keith Anderson (chief executive of ScottishPower) will open the event introducing our chief executive Peter Sweatman who will present the Best Practice Guide and the status of its outreach during COP26 and internationally.
  • Four high-level panellists from GEVC members -and signatories of the Guide- from the finance, infrastructure, telecommunications and utility spaces will engage in a debate and share their insights about the Guide and its expected results. This moderated panel discussion will explore how the Guide can serve as an example for other companies and financial institutions to embed climate actions in their strategies.
  • Subsequently, during Q&A session the audience will engage with panellists; and
  • Finally, the Spanish and Chilean COP26 delegations to join for a formal launch of the guide and closing keynote.

This event will be an enriching and unique experience for those companies interested in learning about the best practices that they can implement in their climate action plans to ensure a high ambition and limit global warming to 1.5 degrees.
