The Kickstart Scheme will create hundreds of thousands of new, fully subsidised jobs for young people across the country. The 6 month placements are open to those aged 16-24 who are claiming Universal Credit and at risk of long term unemployment. The first placements are likely to be available from November.
Employers can apply directly to DWP or they can apply through a Kickstart gateway organisation who already has a Kickstart Scheme grant agreement in place with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and can process applications through this agreement.
As a gateway organisation, Glasgow Chamber of Commerce can support you with your application. Please contact us by clicking here.
The job placements created with Kickstart funding must be new jobs. They must not replace existing or planned vacancies or cause existing employees or contractors to lose or reduce their employment.
The roles you are applying for must be:
Each application should include how you will help the participants to develop their skills and experience, including support with CV and interview preparations. Employers MUST show their willingness to invest in this training on their application.
Chances of a successful application are improved if your business has a registered Companies House number, good credit rating, has been established for more than two years, has regularly and recently filed accounts and no recent CCJs.
