Glasgow Queen Street station redevelopment – Removal of station canopy

As part of our ongoing works to redevelop Glasgow Queen Street station, the project team will soon begin dismantling the station canopy on lower Dundas Street.

Works will be carried out each night when the station is closed and will be ongoing between:

23:59 hours, Monday, January 29 – 05:00 hours, Tuesday, February 12

The canopy will be dismantled by hand using saws and burning equipment and waste material will be removed by vehicle.

All station entrances will re-open as normal each morning, providing a safe and secure passenger access route to and from the station.

The nature of this work means some noise is unavoidable but the project team will do all it can to minimise any inconvenience. Alongside our main contractor Balfour Beatty, we have also briefed those working on site to work with consideration for the local community.
