With Scotland continuing to sizzle amid the heatwave, Glasgow’s St. Enoch Centre is inviting shoppers to feel the sand between their toes this sea-son with the launch of its very own beach.
Located in the mezzanine level of The Atrium food court, in the heart of the city centre, the beach will be in St. Enoch from today (9 July) until the 29 July, and will offer the perfect spot to enjoy some sandy summer fun during the holidays. Whether it’s toddlers who love to play in the sand, or teens looking for a good Instagram opportunity, the beach has something for all the family.
The beach is part of a busy summer of fun at the Glasgow shopping centre which is also set to welcome some of the world’s biggest superheroes, including the Ant Man on Thursday 2 August and Captain America & Iron Man on Sunday 12 August; guaranteed to make it a memorable holiday for littles ones. Character visits are free to attend and will take place between 12-4pm each day.
In line with St. Enoch’s ongoing commitment to ensuring the centre is autism friendly, each character visit will run a quiet session available from 11-11.40am. Details of how to book each quiet session will be announced around the time of each visit.
LEGO® fans can also enjoy a visit to the world-record breaking LEGO® brick bridge which will be in-centre on level 1 until Sunday, 28 October. Comprised from over 200,000 individual LEGO® bricks, and weighing three quarters of a tonne, the bridge was awarded Guinness World Record status in 2014. It stands at a whopping 3m tall and spans 31m in length – making it hard to miss.
To help boost the summer spirit, Grace, the centre’s resident face painter will also be on hand to transform shoppers and dates can be found at www.st-enoch.com.
Commenting, Anne Ledgerwood, general manager of St. Enoch Centre, said: “It’s a jam-packed summer of activity here at St. Enoch Centre and we’re looking forward to continuing the fun in-store with the launch of our very own sandy beach! That, coupled with everything else going on will make it one to remember!”
