The Spanish Butcher is set to take on four London restaurants after being shortlisted for Best Restaurant in the UK by the GQ Food & Drink Awards.
The restaurant is based in the heart of the Merchant City, and will be competing with Westerns Laundry, Core by Clare Smyth, Native and The Barbary for the top industry award. The results will be announced at a ceremony held in London in June.
The Spanish Butcher is owned and operated by husband and wife team James and Louise Rusk, alongside the popular Butchershop and Grill in the West End of the city, and Hutcheson’s on Ingram Street – all part of the couple’s Rusk & Rusk restaurant group
The GQ nomination comes after two other nominations this year for the Rusk & Rusk group, with the Scottish Butcher nominated for Most Stylish Restaurant at the Scottish Style Awards, while the 158 Club Lounge at Hucheson’s has been shortlisted for Most Stylish Bar.
Louise Rusk commented, “This is huge for us. We are very excited and honoured to be recognised as one of the great restaurants in the UK by GQ magazine.
“Our team at Spanish Butcher work extremely hard day in, day out to offer all of our diners something completely different and this nomination is testament to that hard work and passion.”
James Rusk added, “We are extremely proud of the GQ nomination. We have built strong relationships with our suppliers and quality underpins everything we do.”
