Glasgow Talks is set for another busy schedule kicking off in May with excellent speakers, pressing topics and great insights.
In an upcoming talk held on 9 May we will discuss the Business of Gin and hear from guest speaker Liam Hughes, CEO and founder of Glasgow Distillery Company, who launched Glasgow’s first multi award-winning Makar Gin in 2014. Liam has over 25 years in the drinks industry covering all aspects from business development, brand launches, strategy, sales and people management.
Later in the month, on 17 May, we will welcome the Director General of British Chambers of Commerce, Dr Adam Marshall as our guest speaker. In this session Dr Marshall will take questions from attendees, and share his reflections on the socio-economic outlook for business in the United Kingdom today. This will cover issues such as Brexit, interest rates, setting the condition and support to create innovation and growth, allowing businesses to increase productivity and how the power of the Chamber network is supporting members at a national and international level to achieve their aspirations.
On 21 June we will host guest speaker Jonathan Hinkles, managing director of Loganair. Since being appointed in May 2016, Jonathan has been leading Scotland’s airline as it operates over 40 routes across the UK, Ireland and Norway, and has a wealth of experience managing over 650 employees.
