Engineering consultancy firm Mabbett & Associates has announced its acquisition of Glasgow-based environmental specialist JIG, in a move which will expand its client base and range of services.
JIG will be subsumed into Mabbett’s processing engineering department, and is expected to add £250,000 of sales to its turnover. Managing director of Mabbett, Derek McNab, has said that the deal will bolster the consultant’s growth by adding to its resource base and expertise.
Mr McNab commented, “JIG has a strong profile and long-established reputation for delivering intuitive and original solutions to support industrial facilities, developers and private individuals.”
The deal follows a year of double-digit growth for Mabbett, which specialises in improving compliance, reducing costs, EHSQ management, and the reduction of energy, water and waste.
JIG was founded in 2002 by former regulators from the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency. It offers a range of services in environmental law, including septic tank issues for private homes, and flood issues for large industrial projects.
Mabbett’s director of process engineering and safety, Michael Lynch, commented on the acquisition: “The merger of JIG into Mabbett will allow for an enhanced offering of comprehensive environmental services utilising the extensive depth and technical expertise of JIG and the existing Mabbett professional staff.”
