DYW Glasgow – Foundation Apprenticeship event

An information and networking lunch that outlines the benefits of a Foundation Apprenticeship programme is set to take place to encourage the city’s business community to introduce the initiative.

The event, hosted by Developing the Young Workforce Glasgow, will take place on Thursday 11 October between 11.00 and 13.00 at the Corinthian Club on Ingram Street.

Employers will be given the opportunity to find out about the value and benefits that facilitating a Foundation Apprenticeship could bring to the organisation. It will also give insight into the purpose and success the framework delivers for the future workforce through a variety of speakers.

The event will be particularly valuable for organisations who have identified skills gaps in their sector, those who are looking for help in fulfilling CSR and companies who recognise the importance of supporting young people to make an effective transition from school life to the world of work.

Speakers are;

  • Nicholas Carroll Programme Manager DYW
  • Lisa Smith Foundation Apprenticeship Programme Manager Glasgow Kelvin College
  • Ross Hammell Community Benefits Officer/Co-ordinator McTaggart Construction
  • Abbey Scott Foundation Apprentice McTaggart Construction
