Last week, Glasgow Chamber of Commerce was joined by delegates from some of Glasgow’s most successful businesses on a trip to Dusseldorf.
The trip celebrated the launch of Scottish airline Loganair’s new routes between Glasgow and Dusseldorf, which launched on Monday 25 March.
Delegates included representatives from Loganair, Dentons, Ideeas, Walker Gordon Associates, Glasgow Caledonian University and City of Glasgow College.
Representatives from cable clip manufacturer LINIAN were also in attendance. The Glasgow-based company will launch a new product later this year with a new distributor in Germany due to be announced shortly.
Richard Muir, deputy chief executive of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, commented: “Glasgow Chamber of Commerce was delighted to support the Glasgow trade mission to Dusseldorf with Loganair and Dentons which marked the first week of the new daily direct Loganair flight to the city.
“We took eight Glasgow companies to this fabulous city on the banks of the Rhine and met with businesses in the city and representatives from Scottish Development International. It's an excellent new addition to the direct air routes from Glasgow Airport and we are pleased to partner with Loganair and encourage business and leisure travel to and from Glasgow to Dusseldorf.
“We are sure it will further stimulate the strong trade links between the two counties, helping Scottish companies to export while leading to increased inward investment from Germany.”
Loganair’s services depart Glasgow at 10.20am, arriving in Dusseldorf one hour and 50 minutes later at 13.10 local time, before returning to Scotland at 13.50 and touching down again in Glasgow at 14.40.
Lead-in fares for the route are currently online at £69.99 one way from Glasgow to Dusseldorf and can be booked via www.loganair.co.uk or by calling Loganair on 0344 800 2855.
