After Hours is a relaxed networking series where we invite our members to wind down at the end of the working day, in member venues across the city.
This After Hours Event takes us to the new roof terrace at Mackintosh At The Willow, located in the heart of the City on Sauchiehall Street. The original Willow Tea Rooms has undergone extensive restoration to return the building to its former glory.
The famous Tea Rooms first opened in 1903 and are of huge importance to Glasgow’s architectural and cultural heritage and are the only surviving Tea Rooms designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh for local entrepreneur and patron Miss Kate Cranston.
Over the years and through various changes of ownership and use, the building had deteriorated until it was purchased in 2014 by The Willow Tea Rooms Trust in order to prevent the forced sale of the building, closure of the Tea Rooms and loss of its contents to collectors.
The Tea Rooms opened again after the restoration project in July 2018 with work still ongoing. The latest addition is the Roof Terrace which opened on 8 June this year so come and join us after work for drinks, food and networking.
