Last week we saw the end of our third ‘Virtual Trade Mission’ since May this year. This time our market was Milan, Italy and our focus was around Sustainability and the Green Economy with the aim to capitalise on the links already established between the two cities through COP26. We had a fantastic group of Scottish businesses join us, all of whom displayed passion for the importance of sustainability within their business models and enthusiasm for new collaborations with Italy.
During our two days ‘in Milan’ we had two group sessions and fifteen individual business to business meetings between our Scottish delegates and Italian counterparts. Our group sessions focussed firstly on understanding the Italian market, key opportunities and how to do business in Italy, and then secondly on city wide strategies relating to the Green Economy and COP26 in both regions. The speakers were excellent and provided delegates with key market information, as well as recommendations for how to manoeuvre the circular economy and strengthen their own circular processes.
Some feedback from our delegates
Synergie Environ would like to thank Glasgow Chamber of Commerce for arranging this recent Trade Mission. Taking into account social distancing and travel restrictions, the Trade Mission still met the purpose of allowing Synergie Environ to network with other delegates within Scotland as well as in the proposed Italian counterparts. Seren, specifically, was very professional in her organisational approach to the event, keeping delegates well informed with concise and consistent communication and went above and beyond to provide potential business opportunities for Synergie Environ both inside and outside of this Trade Mission. Thank you Seren! – Sam Beaton, Energy and Projects Engineers, Synergie Environ
Just wanted to feedback that it has been a real pleasure to be involved in the virtual trade mission, thank you Seren and Richard, and to the Chamber for facilitating. I've been pleasantly surprised and motivated by what can be achieved remotely and making new connections has been an especially valuable experience in a challenging time! – Laura Ironside, Womenswear Designer
Thank you very much for this and for organising everything. It was very worthwhile. – Sara Seravalli, Founder, Double S Events
