Free '2023 HR to-do list' from Brodies

January to-do lists can be daunting. Looking ahead to the upcoming 12 months of tasks can feel overwhelming but, thankfully, Brodies LLP has given all HR professionals a head start. Until the end of January, the firm has made its '2023 HR to-do list', usually only available to subscribers of its award-winning Workbox by Brodies HR and employment law site, free to everyone. The to-do list can be accessed here.

With 14 categories, it outlines all of the key changes relating to employment law that HR professionals need to be aware of over the next 12 months.

High on the HR agenda for 2023 will be a review of:

  • appeals in three gender critical belief cases which may impact harassment and equality, inclusion and diversity policies, as well as how to manage competing beliefs in the workplace.
  • flexible working policies and letters. The proposed changes to the right to request flexible working include removing the 26-week qualifying period; requiring consultation before rejecting a request; and reducing the response deadline from three to two months.
  • family leave entitlement and policies to ensure that they reflect the new rights to unpaid carer's leave and neonatal leave and pay.
  • harassment policies in advance of the introduction of a new duty on employers to 'take all reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment' of their employees.

You can also view a short video, featuring Brodies' partner and head of employment law Tony Hadden, discussing some of the headline changes here.
