A pioneering energy company announced its arrival in Glasgow by teaming up with Scotland’s only professional basketball club for their latest match.
Tomato Energy is growing across the UK, attracting customers with its wide range of energy solutions including personalised tariffs and the installation of solar panels and batteries with no upfront costs.
However, it also has a deep-rooted commitment to community engagement and encourages staff to support local charities, schools and grassroots organisations.
To celebrate the launch of its services in Glasgow, the company sponsored Caledonia Gladiators’ home match against Leicester Riders on Sunday afternoon, at the PlaySport Arena in East Kilbride.
The partnership included courtside branding and a high-profile presence in the Fanzone, as well as sponsoring four ‘mascots’ from the club’s local schools programme.
The match was won by Caledonia Gladiators 93:88.
Tony McDaid, CEO of Caledonia Gladiators, said: “Having a growing business such as Tomato Energy as sponsor at our home arena brought a fantastic energy to the game day experience for our fans.
“Gifting tomato seeds within the Fanzone created a nice link to our sponsorship activity in a way that resonated well with fans.
“The business shares our passion for supporting the local community and long-term partnerships that can make a real difference. We look forward to working with them in the future as we expand on our partnership.”
Tomato Energy community manager Sarah Quinn said: “We were delighted to sponsor such a popular club.
“It was great to meet so many of their fans, engaging with spectators and other local businesses while building new relationships.
“We pride ourselves on being more than just an energy provider – we genuinely believe in being rooted in the communities we serve, which is why we’re keen to develop partnerships across Glasgow and the wider area.
“As well as sponsoring events, awards and clubs, we’re particularly interested in ideas which are focused on sustainability and the environment.”
