About this proposal

The UK’s airspace is being upgraded as part of the UK Government’s Airspace Modernisation Strategy. Scottish Airspace Modernisation is a coordinated programme of three Airspace Change Proposals (ACPs) from Glasgow Airport, Edinburgh Airport and NATS, with the shared aim of delivering quicker, quieter, more resilient and environmentally cleaner journeys to meet the aims of the Government’s Strategy.

Glasgow Airport and Edinburgh Airport are responsible for the modernisation of their departure and arrival routes and the associated controlled airspace below 7,000ft, and NATS (the UK’s Air Navigation Service Provider for en-route operations) is responsible for connecting these routes into the higher-level airspace network at and above 7,000ft.
