Job Description
We are searching for someone to support our community media work through digital communications and advertising sales. This is an exciting opportunity to grow your skills while working with a grassroots, but multi-award winning magazine. We have a small but passionate team and this role would be an integral part of it.
We operate as a social enterprise and this work will enable us to grow our earned revenue. This will help build core sustainability into the organisations to enable us to continue our work in connecting communities, with less reliance on grant funding.
We see this role as being split between the two main areas:
Digital communications
This means supporting the editorial team to grow our online presence and build our community. It will involve developing your digital skills to help build social media content strategies and plans – and then putting them into place. You will be finding ways to ensure our magazine content has maximum impact online, but also creating content specifically for social media platforms. You will also provide support with uploading content to our website and ensuring it is kept up to date.
You will also support with nurturing our online community of readers, members and volunteers through direct communications such as newsletters, and digital engagement through surveys, polls etc.
Advertising sales
The other part of this job will also be using the partnerships that you build and your online connections to seek out and contact potential advertising partners. This will involve selling advertising space in our print magazine and across our digital platforms including things like sponsored social media posts and collaborations. We find this is done most effectively when carried out through organic connections that you will be building in the digital comms side of the role.
