Lane Closure required on the M8 on-slip at J28A - A737 Link (St. James' Viaduct)

Please be advised that the urgent lane closure on the eastbound M8 on-slip at Junction 28A- A737 link (St James Viaduct) requires to be extended until Sunday 3rd May 2026.

Traffic delays of 15 minutes are expected at peak AM and PM times.

To allow for the removal of the lane closure five nights of work will be undertaken under a closure of the eastbound carriageway of St James Viaduct on the nights of 24th, 29th and 30th April and 1st and 2nd May. Traffic will be directed to take the A737 slip to the St James Interchange and join the M8 Eastbound via the Junction 29 on slip. The overnight closure on the 24th of April will start early at 19:00.

The works involve the installation of bridging units which will create a small ramp in the road at the West abutment. To protect traffic travelling over these units a 30mph speed limit will be in place on the Eastbound carriageway of St James Viaduct once the lane closure is lifted.

Updates to this work will be communicated via swtrunkroads.scot and @SWTRUNKROADS on social media.
