Grounds for Recycling was an innovative hospitality and tourism led campaign designed to help tackle the industry’s food waste, which took place throughout Glasgow from 25 July to 13 August, and coincided with the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships. The campaign saw over 60 of Glasgow’s cycle-friendly coffee shops and roasters join forces to turn coffee waste into something better. All participating sites pledged to divert ALL used coffee grounds from general waste in the lead up to and during the Championships.
