Stuart Patrick CBE, Chief Executive of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, has provided the following comment:
“Transport and connectivity remain key concerns for Glasgow’s business community. Progress on the Clyde Metro is vital to improving links across the city-region, while stronger support for direct international connectivity from Glasgow Airport is also needed.
“The recovery of the city centre continues to be a priority, alongside sustained investment in growth sectors such as maritime, health and life sciences, and advanced manufacturing.
“At the same time, businesses are facing persistent challenges. Skills shortages require a more responsive approach, and cost pressures are intensifying, with energy prices adding to significant rises in employment costs over the past year.
“Addressing these issues will be key to ensuring Glasgow remains an attractive place to do business.”
