The hugely popular experience, Tutankhamun: The Immersive Exhibition, will end its very successful Glasgow run on 26 October 2025.
Having welcomed over 100,000 visitors to the SEC Glasgow to date and over two million visitors globally, Tutankhamun: The Immersive Exhibition invites guests for a final opportunity to travel over 3,000 years back in time and unlock the secrets of Ancient Egypt as it enters its last few weeks in the UK.
With acclaimed press accolades and an average rating of 4.7 out of 5 on customer reviews, this award-winning exhibition welcomes visitors for an extraordinary journey through Ancient Egypt, exploring the myths and mysteries surrounding Pharaoh Tutankhamun using a combination of cutting-edge technology with historical storytelling, original artefacts and replicas.
Exploring the depths of ancient history, the exhibition features an immersive video mapping hall with spectacular 360-degree projections at 8 metres high, a hologram room showcasing the full mummification process of Pharaoh Tutankhamun, an exhilarating virtual reality experience through the Egyptian afterlife, and an interactive digital metaverse space that allows visitors to walk through Howard Carter's excavation camp in the Valley of the Kings.
The journey begins with a towering walking Anubis before guests enter two treasure rooms filled with captivating stories, artefacts and replicas illuminating the culture, beliefs, and mythology of ancient Egypt. A powerful video-mapped immersive hall highlights the life and legacy of Pharaoh Tutankhamun in a 30-minute movie, culminating in the breathtaking discovery of his tomb which features a rare recording of Howard Carter's voice, the archaeologist who discovered the tomb.
A seated virtual reality (VR) journey then guides visitors into the afterlife, followed by a hologram presentation that vividly recreates the full mummification ritual. The visit concludes with a walk-through of a digitally reconstructed Valley of the Kings, where visitors can step into Carter’s original basecamp and relive one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in history. Before leaving, guests can capture a keepsake in the AI photobooth, where they’ll be transformed into citizens of Ancient Egypt.
Expected to sell over 120,000 tickets by the time the exhibition closes, families, schools and history fans alike have a final opportunity to enjoy the beloved exhibition in Glasgow before it closes on 26 October 2025.
Adult tickets are priced from £22.50, children from £16.45 and The Pharaoh Package is priced from £52.50 including queue jump and a range of merchandise. A £2.50 booking fee will be added at checkout. Special rates are also available for school groups.
