Silverburn sets new fundraising record with £111,300 raised for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity in 2025

Leading retail and leisure destination, Silverburn, has shown the power of its community spirit after raising an incredible £111,306 for its long-standing charity partner, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.

Reflecting a 10% increase on last year’s fundraising efforts, the impressive sum was raised through a packed calendar of family-friendly events held throughout the year. A standout highlight was the hugely popular Flamingo Beach, which returned for its third year after proving a massive hit with families over the summer holidays. Across the last three years, the sandy attraction has welcomed 64,000 visitors, with its nine-week run in 2025 alone raising an amazing £50,000 for the charity.

Seasonal celebrations also delivered big smiles and big donations. From Halloween arts and crafts to a magical Christmas programme featuring Santa meet-and-greets, local choirs and a gift-wrapping service, Silverburn and its guests raised a further £61,772 through its festive events.

Behind the scenes, volunteers played a crucial role in achieving the record total. Over the year, 520 individuals from leading Scottish businesses donated an incredible 2,903 hours of their time, equivalent to 120 full 24-hour days, representing a 10% increase in volunteer hours compared with last year.

William McGowan, Head of Partnerships and Business Development of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “Once again, we are overwhelmed by this record-breaking donation, which will make a real difference to the lives of children and families in hospital. We are profoundly grateful to Silverburn, its guests, volunteers and the centre team, whose dedication and hard work made this possible.

“As Scotland’s largest children’s hospital, support of this scale plays a vital role in funding life-changing equipment, essential support services and research for children and families across the country. The incredible total raised this year reflects the commitment, care and community spirit of everyone involved.”

David Pierotti, general manager of Silverburn, said: “2025 will go down as a landmark year for Silverburn, and raising more than £111,300 for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity is something we are exceptionally proud of.

“We are touched by the generosity shown by our guests, the incredible efforts of the volunteers and the support from our brilliant centre team that have made this happen. From

Flamingo Beach to festive fun, our events continue to bring joy to guests and families while supporting an amazing cause, and we’re excited to build on this momentum and continue our support throughout 2026.”

The charity fundraising success rounds off a landmark year for Silverburn, which welcomed over 16.5 million visitors in 2025, a 10% increase on the previous year, marking its busiest year in the centre’s 18 year history. Silverburn also earned national recognition last year, winning a string of awards including Glasgow’s Best Performing Large Business, Retail Destination of the Year at the SCEPTRE Awards, and Asset Management Initiative of the Year at the REVO Awards.
