Bike for Good Inspires Indraneil’s Cycling Adventures at Skypark
If you are keen on trying cycling in the City this summer, Skypark’s cycling collaborator, Bike for Good have partnered with the Commonwealth Games to bring a series of free group lessons and beginner led rides to equip you with all you need to enjoy cycling in Glasgow.
Based at Skypark, Indraneil Ghosh of Filament PD has not looked back since joining forces with Bike for Good. An experienced cyclist rode his commute with him, guiding him along the safest, smoothest route and passing on practical tips that boosted his confidence on two wheels. Fast-forward and Indraneil is now a regular cyclist leaving an expensive commute behind.
Indraneil Ghosh said: “I’ve known how to ride a bike, but the sheer thought of navigating busy city traffic kept me from ever commuting on my bike. That changed when I signed up for the Skypark one-day "cycle around" lunchtime event. Right from the start, Derek was incredibly helpful and genuinely cared about my goals. When I told him I just wanted to ride comfortably and gain some confidence in traffic, he tailored the whole session to me. We cycled out toward my neighbourhood, and he showed me all the cycle paths, while teaching me the real-world safety rules for riding alongside cars. If you're on the fence about cycling to work, I cannot recommend the Bike for Good team enough—they turn traffic anxiety into pure confidence!”
From iconic landmarks and Glasgow’s rich history, to it’s beautiful green spaces, this cycling series is available FREE to all to the end of July.
Liz Henderson of Bike for Good said: “Thank you to Loraine and the team for such a positive partnership, Skypark is an incredibly supportive workplace, and we are delighted to contribute. Staff are encouraged to make cycling part of their everyday commute and have great facilities to allow them to do so. They are embracing low cost travel by bike which is fantastic for their overall health and wellbeing. It is lovely to see employees developing confidence with their cycling and we were so happy to chat to those who wanted advice to plan bike packing trips. There are so many adventures out there and we look forward to hearing about them. We really value our relationship with Skypark.”
Tenants choosing to cycle to Skypark have access to 250 secure bike parking spaces as well as lockers, segregated showers and changing facilities, a drying room and a dedicated cycle repair space. Skypark’s Marketing, Events and Services Manager, Loraine Patrick of Resonance Capital said: “We’re delighted to see the positive impact of our partnership with Bike for Good and are grateful to the team for helping Indraneil and other Skyparkers stay healthier, save money, and go greener.
