Glasgow City Region City Deal Contract Pipeline

The Glasgow City Region City Deal was the first in Scotland and is one of the largest in the UK, backed by £500 million each from the UK and Scottish Governments and a projected £410 million from the local authorities.

The City Deal is supporting 22 infrastructure projects across the Region, building new roads and bridges, improving transport infrastructure, revitalising public realm, and unlocking vacant sites in key locations for housing, retail and commercial development. Since 2014, it is estimated to have already attracted more than £880 million worth of follow-on investment.

This includes the new £65 million Enabling Commercial Space project, approved in February 2025 and added to the City Deal programme. The project will provide funding to refurbish or create new commercial or industrial premises, building on a research report commissioned by Glasgow City Region which evidences the scale of the challenge in ensuring there is sufficient commercial and industrial space to meet the needs of local businesses and businesses investing in the Region.
