What is Paid Work Placements?
The Paid Work Placements programme is funded by Glasgow City Council to provide opportunities for up to 90 people with barriers to employment to have a work placement paid at the Real Living Wage.
Placements will be funded for between 18 and 26 weeks, and for between 16 and 25 hours a week (with flexibility for fewer if required because of disability or caring responsibilities). A maximum of 550 hours can be funded through the programme.
The employee can also expect ongoing support during their placement as well as training to help them to stay in employment at the end of the placement.
Employers creating placement opportunities are eligible to reclaim wage and other costs associated with the placement.
The Paid Work Placements programme is delivered on behalf of Glasgow City Council. In partnership with Glasgow Council for the Voluntary Sector (GCVS), Glasgow Chamber of Commerce will be supporting participants through the process of securing placements. Other partners include Enable Scotland, CEMVO Scotland, and Move On
