Rabbit Food joins Clydeside Containers project, bringing Punk Rock Vegan junk food to Glasgow

The highly anticipated expansion of the popular vegan junk food brand Rabbit Food is underway as they are announced as the first food vendor to join the Clydeside Containers project. Founded by Gavin and Rab, Rabbit Food has made waves in Edinburgh with their bold approach to plant-based dining, offering indulgent and innovative comfort food, from deep-fried lasagnas to buffalo-style “chicken” burgers. Now, they are bringing their punk rock-inspired, filthy vegan menu to Glasgow, promising to serve up dishes that aren’t just vegan, but unashamedly indulgent.

In the first episode of the Clydeside Containers podcast to be released on Wednesday 19th March, Rabbit Food's founders spoke with host Billy Kirkwood about their journey from pop-up events to securing a full-time location in Glasgow. The duo revealed that their decision to launch Rabbit Food came from their frustration with the lack of creative and satisfying options in the market. “When we first started, vegan food was just quinoa bowls and salads,” said Rab. “We wanted to bring something indulgent, a treat you wouldn’t make at home, and that’s exactly what we’re doing.”

Having already gained a strong following from successful pop-ups, Rabbit Food is now ready to set up shop at Clydeside Containers, a vibrant community of food vendors and entertainment located along the River Clyde.

Rabbit Food’s menu includes crowd-pleasers like the Buffalo Chicken Burger, loaded fries, and deep-fried cheesecake, along with new and creative dishes that have become the brand’s signature. The pair discussed plans to bring over fan favorites from their Edinburgh location, such as their infamous Lasagna Burger, and introduce new experimental items that push the boundaries of vegan comfort food.

“We’ve been working hard to make sure the Glasgow location has the same energy and vibe that people love about Rabbit Food. It’s not just about the food – it’s about creating an experience. We’re combining nostalgia, punk rock, and a little bit of chaos into every dish,” said Gavin.

The duo also shared their excitement about the unique setting at Clydeside Containers, which will allow them to connect with a diverse crowd of food lovers. “There’s something for everyone here. Whether you're vegan or not, you’ll find something you love. We want people to leave saying, ‘That was cool. That was different. That was Rabbit Food.’”

With a menu that combines the best of vegan junk food with a heavy dose of creativity and rebellious spirit, Rabbit Food at Clydeside Containers is set to be a must-visit destination for anyone craving flavorful, fun, and innovative plant-based dining in Glasgow.

Clydeside Containers is set to open in Late Spring 2025.
