Glasgow House, a business hub and event space in the Merchants House of Glasgow, welcomed business guests and international representatives during the UCI Cycling World Championships on 3-13 August 2023. Glasgow House, a partnership between Glasgow Life and Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, offered an opportunity for businesses to engage with this major event, while showcasing Glasgow leadership and innovation. Glasgow House was open to business delegates from across the city and beyond.
Glasgow House featured themed days, including
Diversity and Inclusion, Innovation, Travel and Transport,
Digital, Life Sciences, Built Environment/City Centre and Sustainability and covered topics such as planning for net zero, the Glasgow innovation hub, circularity, digital connectivity, eco-systems development, skills, neurodiversity and investment opportunities within the city.

UCI championships are an excellent opportunity to show international dignitaries, business leaders and investors how the city is leading the way on issues such as green technologies, financial services, and life sciences.”
“Mega events like this are critical to our economy and over the last decade Glasgow has cemented its reputation as a world-class host for global events. It is estimated that the championships added £67m to our economy and, much like during the Commonwealth Games and European Championships, businesses played a key role in ensuring that not only the event itself was successful, but that we created a lasting legacy from it.
