International Trade Training

Glasgow Chamber’s International Trade team provides professional advice and documentation services for those companies trading overseas. Complementing these services, the training department offers an extensive programme of international trade training including Export and Import Procedures, Letters of Credit, Incoterms, Bonds and Guarantees, Dangerous and Hazardous Goods. Our international training programmes are run every two months as open programmes but can also be delivered as tailored training programmes.

Letters of Credit present tremendous opportunities and challenges to the exporter.

 They represent a relatively secure method of payment but a very high proportion of documents presented to UK banks are still rejected on first presentation - approximately 80%! This course will explain the roles of the parties, clarify the procedures and recommend practical ways in which exporters can establish best practice in order to ensure payment every time.
