Why did you join the Chamber?
Glasgow Chamber of Commerce has always had a great reputation for being one of the best for networking. Having previously been a member when I represented the health & fitness industry and then the hospitality sector, it was important for me to continue my relationship with the Chamber when I took up my role with ARRAN Sense of Scotland.
My role primarily focuses on the hospitality sector, but I have recently moved into corporate gifting. Membership enables increased visibility of what we offer and allows me to make new connections, creating new business opportunities.
I love the varied calendar of events, every event is different.
What benefits have you received from membership (eg introductions, attending events, networking, marketing etc)?
I have attended a variety of events. These varied events inspired me to put forward the suggestion of doing a Christmas in July event last year and the Chamber's Senior Events and Professional Development Manager, Alan Busby, thought it was a great idea.
The Chamber teamed up with One Devonshire Gardens to be able to enjoy Christmas early including a turkey lunch with all the trimmings, full Christmas décor and allowing guests exclusive, early access to the Christmas Corporate Gifting offering available from Arran Sense of Scotland.
The event was a huge success, with great traction across social media and fantastic guest feedback.
What are you looking forward to from the Chamber in the future?
Showcasing our products at another Christmas in July event this year - it was too good to not do again, and enjoying access to future networking events.
Arlene Mitchell, Business Manager, ARRAN Sense of Scotland
