Race for Life restrictions - 19 May 2024

Please find below restrictions relating to Race for Life. 

**Please note that there might be some small changes to the restrictions due to works in the city.** 

Roads affected and dates and times of restriction applying to all vehicles with the exception of an emergency service vehicle carrying out an emergency response or vehicles given permission from Glasgow City Council filming and events section.

The following roads will have a NO WAITING AND NO LOADING OR UNLOADING restrictions from 15:00hrs on 18 May 2024 to 16:00 on 19 May 2024

The same roads will have a PROHIBITION OF DRIVING from 06:00hrs to 16:00hrs on 19 May 2024

Albert Bridge, between Saltmarket and Crown Street

Anchor Lane, for its full length

Argyle Street, between Hope Street and Queen Street

Buchanan Street for its full length

Candleriggs, for its full length

Clyde Street, for its full length (access maintained to Maxwell Street)

Cochrane Street, for its full length

Congress Road, for its full length, (one lane)

Crown Street, between Ballater Street and Saltmarket

Fastlink (Anderston Quay and Broomielaw)

Finnieston Quay, for its full length (one lane, nearside)

Reason for Restrictions

The safety of the event and other road users. 

“vehicle” unless the context otherwise requires, means a vehicle of any description and includes a machine or implement of any kind drawn or propelled along roads whether or not by mechanical power;
“emergency service vehicle” means a vehicle being used by the Police, Fire or Ambulance Services to also include NHS blood transfer vehicles.
