Now’s the time to give speaking at All-Energy serious thought

The nine show floor theatres at All-Energy and Dcarbonise (Glasgow’s SEC, 15-16 May 2024) are popular with speakers and visitors, and also with exhibitors with their stands gathered around them.

The countdown to the deadline for submissions to the ‘Call for Speakers’ for eight of them is drawing ever closer. It has been extended until 28 February due to the pressures bought to bear on people returning after the festive break to packed inboxes and back-to-back meetings, which saw January suddenly evaporate with one job still on many action lists: ‘submit conference abstract’. Details on submission are at www.all-energy.co.uk/gc

“The conference team was inundated with requests asking: ‘could you allow me a little extra time?’; and that is just what we’ve done, we’re good listeners!” explained Jonathan Heastie, Portfolio Director, Energy & Marine at RX who own and organise the duo of events. “Speakers enjoy the intimacy of talking to an audience that is really close to them and who they can see clearly. We look forward to all eight theatres being busy throughout the two days. They cover offshore wind, marine renewables, community and local energy, future talent, hydrogen and energy storage, innovation, and decarbonisation of the built environment, heat and transport.

“The ninth show floor theatre, in the Research and Innovation Hub, is an Energy Technology Partnership (ETP) initiative, bringing academic and industrial collaboration projects together focussing in the theatre on the work undertaken on projects displayed on small pods within the Hub. If you are a PhD student with an industrial partner this could be something for you to share.”

A new year also brings with it a flood of bookings from exhibitors and this year has been no exception. Shepherd and Wedderburn has confirmed their role as Headline Sponsor for a tenth time; and there is increasing commitment by a growing number of overseas exhibitors with overseas groups and individual companies joining the register of exhibitors. Recent additions include Business France and the HY5 - The Green Hydrogen Initiative of Northern Germany who join individual exhibitors from Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, The Netherlands and Norway, as well as from throughout the UK.

“We are also delighted that Invest Northern Ireland will make a return visit across the Irish Sea with an increasing number of exhibitors,” said Jonathan Heastie. ”The exhibition is filling fast and we suggest any organisation contemplating joining us makes their decision soon so they benefit from exposure on our website and as part of our social media programme. It is not long before registration opens for visitors and it would be good to have your name ‘up in lights’ on the exhibitor list by then!”
