Countdown begins in earnest for All-Energy 2024

The days are getting longer and before we know where we are it will be May; and May brings All-Energy and the co-located Dcarbonise to Glasgow’s SEC. The exhibition is filling; indeed, it is over 70% full already, with familiar and new names taking part as exhibitors. The ever-growing list can be found on the show’s website at https://www.all-energy.co.uk/gcc

The conference is being created with encouraging input from key stakeholders, including All-Energy’s headline sponsor Shepherd and Wedderburn celebrating a decade in that important role. Now is the time that “It’s not until next year” becomes “Good heavens only four months to go!”.

There is one deadline bearing down on prospective participants in the popular show floor theatres, with the call for speakers embracing eight of the nine theatres that focus on offshore wind, marine renewables, future talent, hydrogen and energy storage, community and local energy, innovation, and decarbonisation of the built environment, heat and transport drawing ever closer. The deadline for submissions is 2 February. Those eager to have academic poster sites in the exhibition have longer (until 31 March) to submit their abstracts. Details of both calls are at https://www.all-energy.co.uk/gc

The ninth show floor theatre is the Research and Innovation (R&I) Hub organised by Energy Technology Partnership (ETP) which brings academic and industrial collaborative projects together by means of exhibits within pods and presentations in the R&I Hub theatre. They would certainly like to hear either direct or via All-Energy’s organisers from all interested in joining the R&I Hub.

Looking back to 2023, what a show it was, as Jonathan Heastie, Portfolio Director, Energy & Marine at RX, who own and organise the duo of events, explains “The co-located shows broke all previous records with total attendance of 9,706 – a 27% increase on the 2022 figure.

“It was a fantastic two days - we got off to a flying start with the Rt Hon Humza Yousaf MSP, the then-new First Minister of Scotland, speaking in the opening plenary session. The Lomond Auditorium was packed to the proverbial gunwales, and so was our overflow hall. We knew that registrations had broken all records in advance of the show, but finding out the total attendance afterwards was a fantastic moment. The exhibition halls were constantly busy, with the buzz of business being done and highly successful networking’ that has always been the hallmark of All-Energy, the UK’s largest renewable and low carbon energy and conference.

“The conference attracted packed halls right up to the final minutes of our two-day event, in excess of 9,200 badges were scanned at the entrances to conference halls and show floor theatres. The Civic Reception and Giant Networking Evening, and features such as the Future Talent Hub and Meet the Developer all played their part in the success story.

“We will be opening attendance registration in the closing weeks of February. Now is the time to book that space you’ve had your eye on, put forward conference ideas and submit show floor theatre and academic poster abstracts!”
