Guests who attended a musical quiz bingo event at the Hilton on William Street helped raise more than £32,000 for Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS).
The charity provides nationwide hospice services for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions at Rachel House in Kinross and Robin House in Balloch while the CHAS at Home service supports families in their own homes right across Scotland.
Guests who attended the colourful musical quiz bingo event enjoyed an afternoon of fun, laughter, games and music with proceedings led by Scottish comedian and Heart FM Drivetime host Des Clarke. Entertainment was provided by West End and International leading lady, Shona White and popular Scottish band, BLEEKER.
Special guests of honour was CHAS parent, Jennifer Stewart who spoke about her son Luke and the support and care the family received from the charity following his death in 2018, aged just eight.
CHAS Chaplain, Amanda Reid also spoke about the bereavement work she does with families supported by the charity right across Scotland and then introduced a short film about the remarkable work of the CHAS team in the Grampian region led by Diana Nurse, Louise Esson.
CHAS Events Fundraiser, Emma Campbell said: “Special thanks must go to our parent speaker Jennifer who spoke so touchingly about how CHAS helped her family. Thanks also to everyone involved in making this event such a huge success including our volunteers, entertainers, prize donors, sponsors and of course all our wonderful guests for their incredible support.
“We are extremely pleased to announce that with the support of our guests, sponsors and prizes donors, we managed to raise an incredible £32,000 after costs which will go directly to our services.”
