An 11-year-old Caledonia Gladiators fan Alfie Potts stole the spotlight at a recent game as he tried out a half-court hero challenge, managing a three-point shot while facing in the other direction.
Invited onto the court by radio host Des Clarke, Alfie, from Bishopbriggs, stunned the crowd as he is seen effortlessly shooting the ball into the hoop from the half-court point on his first try. The arena erupted into cheers, chanting Alfie’s name as he celebrated winning £100 and becoming the second ever person to win half-court hero.
When asked by host Des Clarke what advice he has for the fellow fans, Alfie exclaims: “Just do it!”.
Des replies: “Just do it? There’s a sponsorship deal if ever I’ve saw one!” Des Clarke jokes, pointing to Alfie’s Nike tracksuit.
After his big win, Alfie made his way to the fan-zone where he was able to share the excitement with his favourite player, Prince Onwas. The pair met earlier in the season, when Prince gifted a pair of signed trainers to the young fan.
