Throughout my time at Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, I’ve noticed that nothing beats the value of a one-to-one, face-to-face meeting. While emails and video calls have their place, and of course, I will continue to use teams for meetings, the best conversations happen in person. At Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, we see first-hand how these meetings help members build trust, strengthen relationships, and drive business forward.
Why Face-to-Face Works Best
One-to-one meetings allow for more meaningful discussions. You can read body language better and build a relationship in a way that video calls can’t pick up. Whether it’s a potential member, existing member, or with colleagues, meeting in person makes a difference. A study highlighted that face-to-face meetings are more effective for meaningful brainstorming sessions and stronger relationship-building compared to virtual meetings. (WeWork)
Better Conversations, Better Business
When you sit down with someone, you are more focused, and conversations flow better. It’s easier to brainstorm, communicate, and problem-solve. Internally at the Chamber, our best conversations and ideas come out when we collaborate in person with each other.
