Job Description

The main purpose of the post of Sales Assistant is to support the Manager to generate income by managing the shop effectively and commercially. To create a unique shopping experience for customers and donors while maintaining the high standards set by CHSS. To identify high value items and to effectively display and promote, in order to support delivery of financial targets The Sales Assistant is part of the CHSS retail team and is expected to contribute to the charity.

Please note this placement is a work placement opportunity for the duration of 22 weeks 

Key Responsibilities

• Friendly service
• Accept donations
• Sort stock, process and price to go on the shop floor.
• Follow H&S procedures
• Follow CHSS policies and procedures
• Keep the store tidy
• Help guide, train and support new volunteers.

Essential skills, experience and qualifications

• Basic IT, numeracy and literacy
• Working within a team
• Good awareness of fashion brands
• Ability to work and think flexibly and independently, using initiative
• Ability to communicate on all levels, including delivery of excellent customer service
• Good organisational skills, including ability to plan
• Positive attitude

Number of Hours Per Week 26 hours per week for 22 weeks

Working pattern and contracted hours (including any shift patterns)
4x6.5 hours (10-5 with a 30 minute lunch)
