Job Description

The Marketing Assistant role is to provide marketing and promotional support within the Workplace Qualifications team. Working as part of the team you will be office based at within the Albany Centre and will contribute to promoting SVQs, Modern Apprenticeships, Training courses to our third and public sector customers. You will be familiar with social media and run campaigns according to a brief as well as direct marketing activities. Working with the SQA Co-Ordinator you will also provide timely administrative support to the SVQ team using SQA and other systems.

Please note this placement is a work placement opportunity for the duration of 26 weeks 

 

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Marketing

Promoting our workplace qualifications, you will design and run Social Media Campaigns including;

  • Design Campaigns according to a brief and tailor themed content to a variety of channels using GCVS brand guidelines
  • Automating posts to run at specific dates and times as agreed with Comms team
  • Use effective SMO techniques to maximise engagement
  • Use a variety of Analytical tools to measure ROI
  • Report on campaigns reach and impact 

Marketing

Promoting our workplace qualifications, you will support other Marketing activities including;

  • handle and direct incoming telephone calls
  • make outgoing calls to customers to gather feedback and promote additional services
  • send emails to customers to gather feedback and promote additional services
  • handle and direct incoming emails to SVQ, Multiply or Training email inboxes
  • deal with enquiries both in person and by telephone
  • carry out ad hoc marketing support to other teams or projects as required

Administration

  • Process candidate registrations and update systems including SharePoint, MS Office packages and SQA’s bespoke system,
  • Contribute to the design and updating of marketing materials using Canva.
  • Attend meetings and take minutes
  • Assist in the administration of new programmes delivered by the team by creating and maintaining recording systems.
  • Assist in diary management for trainers and assessors

Essential skills, experience and qualifications

  • Competent using Outlook and Word.
  • Excellent Verbal and Written communication skills
  • Good customer service skills

Desirable

  • Some knowledge of Social Media Marketing and Photo Editing Software
  • Some knowledge of Microsoft 365  including Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint
  • IT literate to learn new software systems
  • Confidence to build relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and customers.

Number of Hours Per Week 21 hours per week for 26 weeks

Working pattern and contracted hours (including any shift patterns)
3 days 9am to 5pm between Monday to Friday as agreed.

Details of Training Provided

The successful candidate will be allocated a Mentor who will develop a training plan with them to learn systems and duties over a 6 week period. This will be done inhouse by demonstration and coaching.

The successful candidate can access any training event ran by GCVS and this will include Excel, Numeracy, Collaborative Working, Safeguarding and Online Safety in addition to their choice of training within their allocated training budget.
