Job Description
To support workshop staff and volunteers in the preparation and finishing of reclaimed timber for production and sale. Job will involve basic wood preparation; e.g. cutting, sanding and painting, including the use of a range of hand and power tools.
Please note this is a work placement opportunity for the duration of 26 weeks

No experience or qualifications are required.
A keen interest in developing skills in woodworking would be beneficial.
Number of Hours Per Week 21 hours per week for 26 weeks
Working pattern and contracted hours (including any shift patterns)
Monday – Friday 3 days, 0900 - 1700

Details of Training Provided
A Health and Safety Induction will also be carried out which will include responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act. Any PWP Employee using machinery or power tools will receive training from an experienced person before being allowed to operate machinery and/or tools and will be supervised until fully competent. All PWP employees will receive on-the-job training suitable to their job role and will be encourage to take up suitable training opportunities. Where any barriers to progression are identified, eg literacy, the employee would be signposted to suitable specialist support.
