Job Description
Govanhill Baths Community Trust (GBCT) is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Arts Development Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role alongside the Arts and Heritage Manager in developing, coordinating, and delivering a diverse range of arts and cultural activities that engage and inspire the local community. This position is integral to our mission of promoting well-being, social cohesion, and community development through the arts.
Please note this is a work placement opportunity for the duration of 24 weeks
Key Responsibilities
Programme Development and Delivery:
- Plan, develop, and deliver a variety of arts projects, workshops, and events that cater to the diverse interests and needs of the Govanhill community.
- Work collaboratively with local artists, community groups, and organisations to co-create and facilitate arts activities.
- Ensure all projects are inclusive, accessible, and reflective of the community’s cultural diversity.
Community Engagement:
- Actively engage with the community to identify interests, needs, and potential participants for arts activities.
- Foster relationships with local residents, community groups, and stakeholders to encourage participation and support for arts initiatives.
- Organise and lead outreach activities to promote arts projects and events.
Project Management:
- Help coordinate the logistical aspects of arts projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of arts activities, gathering feedback and data to inform future planning.
- Prepare reports and presentations on project progress and outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
Funding and Partnerships:
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities to support arts projects, including grants, sponsorships, and partnerships.
- Prepare funding applications and manage relationships with funders.
- Develop partnerships with local and regional arts organizations, cultural institutions, and other relevant bodies to enhance programme offerings and resources.
Promotion and Marketing:
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote arts activities, including social media, newsletters, and community outreach.
- Create promotional materials such as flyers, posters, and online content.
- Maintain and update the arts section of the GBCT website and social media channels.

Education and Experience:
- Experience in Arts, Community Development, or a related field.
- Experience in developing and delivering community arts projects.
- Experience working with diverse communities and understanding of cultural sensitivities.
Skills and Attributes:
- Project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and evaluation.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of people.
- Creative and innovative approach to developing arts activities and solving problems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using social media, digital marketing tools, and other relevant software.
Number of Hours Per Week 22.5 hours per week for 24 weeks
Working pattern and contracted hours (including any shift patterns)
3 full days a week - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
