Job Description
Main role will be to provide marketing support to current members of staff and will include:
- social media content creation and scheduling
- engagement on social media platforms
- new/ current client engagement
- newsletter / copy creation
- promoting events / services on relevant websites/ listings
- contributing to press releases
As the post is based in our physical location, the role will include elements of customer service including responding appropriately to walk-in and telephone enquiries, facilitating sales of products (e.g. logging items, petty cash, card processing), ensuring people entering the space feel welcome as well as a high level of customer satisfaction, raising any issues to assist in prompt resolution.
Please note this is a work placement opportunity for the duration of 26 weeks
Key Responsibilities
- Create new written content (social media posts, product descriptions etc) and visual content (photos, videos, illustrations, infographics etc) for The Wee Retreat’s website and social media channels.
- Drive awareness of our organisation and mission by posting in relevant forums and groups and respond to the feedback/ comments.
- Assist with streamlining social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn), ensuring uniform content and tone of voice.
- Increase the number of followers we have on our social media accounts.
- Monitor and reply to direct messages and comments.
- Posting on all social media accounts on a regular basis; and using relevant tools to plan forward-looking posts over weekends and holidays.
- Contribute to the development of our marketing strategy and work within its parameters
- Source content for newsletters and social media posts
Essential skills, experience and qualifications
Essential skills include:
- IT literacy to include social media channels including Facebook and Instagram
- software knowledge and skills e.g. email platforms, websites
- excellent customer service skills
Preferred skills include:
- A personal wellbeing practice
- knowledge and experience in marketing and online communications
- experience in creating and executing social media promos and campaigns
We anticipate the candidate will be able to form relationships quickly and work with openness and integrity, exercise good people skills, demonstrate strong organisational skills, be self-motivated to work, assess conflicting priorities and take appropriate action, seek support/advice when appropriate and commit to ongoing personal development and training.
Number of Hours Per Week 21 hours per week for 26 weeks
Working pattern and contracted hours (including any shift patterns)
Flexible between Mon-Fri, 10am-5pm
