GROW Senior Programme Executive

Job Title: GROW Senior Programme Executive

Department: Projects

Reporting to: Programme Manager   

Hours of work: 37.5 per week

Base: Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, 30 George Square, Glasgow G2 1EQ / Hybrid

Duration: Until June 2027

Nature: Fixed term

Salary: £37,000

The GROW Senior Programme Executive will lead a team working with the Chamber’s employability team and Developing the Young Workforce teams across Glasgow to help offer more young people, who are currently in school, opportunities to gain experience to learn about jobs and careers by visiting workplaces across the region.

You will be responsible for managing a new programme to increase work experience opportunities for young people. You will collaborate with current regional teams to create more links to industry and directly support a project to help young people understand the world of work.

This role will manage a team located across Glasgow City Region to deliver this project delivered on behalf a global philanthropic foundation. You will be responsible for delivering against programme objectives and reporting to funders.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing and monitoring sensitive information
  • Managing a delivery team
  • Building relationships across regional partner team
  • Responsible for the coordination of industry interventions
  • Monitoring budgets and maintaining budget sheets
  • Managing calendar of reporting submissions
  • Compiling information for various reports
  • Diary management for team as required.
  • Ensure all data is available for audit purposes when required.
  • Supporting the Project manager to deliver on the outcomes of the project
  • Any other activity required by the Programme Manager and director.

Additional requirements

  • This role requires a high degree of diligence and professionalism, and you will need to have a keen eye for detail, a determined approach and be capable of working both independently and within the team.
  • Contribute to the wider activities within Glasgow Chamber of Commerce and provide support to wider projects activity, events, membership development and marketing where required.

Person specification

Essential       

  • Experience managing programmes in a public sector or funder capacity.
  • Enthusiastic and initiative-taking.
  • Experience with industry engagement.
  • Line management experience.
  • Experience in working with financial records and collating data for reports.
  • Confident in reporting data to internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Great numeracy skills and diligence.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-starter and ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Sound organisational skills and ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines.

Desirable

  • Knowledge and understanding of Glasgow’s economic issues.
  • Experience in a matrix management structure
